Make the Most of Your Investment Club Cash Accounting

4/10/2024

Here are a few tips for using the myICLUB Cash Accounts Summary.

The Cash Accounts Summary page in myICLUB Accounting section is often-overlooked but offers some great ways to customize reports and streamline transaction entry for a club treasurer.

At the top of the page are quick links to enter all of the available types of Cash transactions.

Further down, current balances for the club’s bank and brokerage accounts are shown. Change the date to see balances as of that point, very useful when reconciling statement balances!

To make it easier to enter member payment or security buys/sells, select the account to use by Default for member and security transactions.

If desired, click the Edit icon to change “Bank” and “Brokerage” to the actual names of your firms. This can be useful if you have more than one brokerage account, or optionally want to keep track of transactions by account when changing firms. New accounts can also be created here, and any account can be marked as inactive (if it has a zero balance).

Suspense is a special account occasionally used for funds that are in transit—you can mark it as inactive so that it doesn’t show when not in use and re-enable it when you need it.
