We recently reviewed and updated our list of market indices that are used in the myICLUB Performance and Benchmark Report. This report is used to calculate a club's return over various periods and as compared to selected market indices, giving the club an answer to the question "how are we doing?"

The list has also been re-organized to make it easier to identify and select an appropriate index. The options include broad market indices (such as the S&P 500 or US Total Stock Market), international or global indcies (such as the MSCI EAFE or MSCI All Country), fixed income indices (as the US 20+ Year Treasury Bonds), and specialty indices (S&P SmallCap 600 or Nasdaq Composite). This selection provides better market representation for most areas of interest to stock investors.

While we have endeavored to provide a concise and yet inclusive list of market indices, there is always the option to compare the club's portfolio performance to any stock, mutual fund, index fund, or exchange traded fund (ETF) by using the Custom Ticker box on the report creation screen.
