The Portfolio Review Report is a variant of the BetterInvesting "PERT Report", and has been used by individual investors and investment clubs for decades to manage their stock portfolios. In 2009, we released a version of this report on our myICLUB investment club operations and accounting website. In that report, we used the Take Stock estimates of growth (as calculated on our StockCentral website) in order to calculate various judgment values. However, since Take Stock is so stringent, the results for many companies currently being held by clubs were difficult to interpret.

As a result, we have just released an update to the Portfolio Review Report on myICLUB.com. We are now using Analyst Consensus Estimates for next 12-months' EPS and the 5-year EPS growth rate, and the rest of the proxy judgment figures are calculated from there. (Of course, those proxy judgment values may different from your own assessment of a stock's likely results.)

In addition, as you move your mouse over the column headers, definitions of those fields will appear, which should help identify the specific calculations and assumptions that the report uses.

The Portfolio Review Report is available to all members of a club from the Reports section of myICLUB.com. Print a copy and take it to your next club meeting and discuss the findings with your members -- you may well turn up unexpected weak performers that can trigger decisions about stocks that might be good sale candidates
