How can I change the text size on a web page?

Most current browsers can make temporary adjustments to the text size on the screen by holding down the Ctrlkey on the keyboard, and then clicking the plusor minuskey on the keyboard.It is also possible to make a more permanent change as follows:


For Internet Explorer:

  1. Click the Page button (in some copies of Internet Explorer, this will appear as a small sheet of paper)
  2. From the menu that appears, go down to Text Size, and select either a larger or smaller text size.
    1. If you do not see a Page button, the toolbar for it may be hidden. To get it back, do the following:
    2. Right-click any open space either above the browser's address bar, or to the right of the tab showing the name of the window you're looking at.
    3. From this menu, click 'Command Bar'; this will restore the Command bar, which will have the Page button.

For Google Chrome:

  1. Click the Chrome menuChrome menuon the browser toolbar.
  2. SelectSettings.
  3. ClickShow advanced settings.
  4. In the "Web Content" section, use the "Font size" drop-down menu to make adjustments.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click the Tools menu, and then select Options
    1. If you do not see a Tools menu, tap the Alt key on your keyboard, to show standard menus at the top left of the window, and then select Options.
  2. Next, click Content, near the top of the Options window.
  3. From here you can change the default font, and font size.
  4. Once you've made the change, click OK to return to the web page.

For Safari:

  1. Click on the Safari menu (may appear as a small cog or gear) and choose Preferences.
  2. Click on the heading labeled Appearance.
  3. Choose the Selectbutton to the right of the option Standard Font.
  4. Choose the font size you want by clicking on the correct number in the Sizescolumn.
  5. Choose the Select button to the right of the option Fixed-width fontand adjust the font size in the same manner.
  6. Close the Fonts window and begin browsing with the adjusted font size.
